a new friend...

nora loves dogs...that part is already quite obvious...i like to joke that she is going to be like her dad and like dogs better than people...but we worry because she is SO comfortable with dogs, that we're afraid one time she's gonna get too close for comfort...luckily we're surrounded by people who have dogs that love children...so brigit and caitlin were on nora duty today and brought along cait's dog jada...apparently nora felt so bad for jada being in her crate at times, that she crawled in along with her...misery loves company, right? i love the look on jada's face in the 2nd pic, looking like "can i get a little help here?" but not only did nora crawl right in with her, she also felt so bad she kept letting her out...many many times...and it isn't so easy getting a little "rat" (as mike calls her) back in with 2 much bigger dogs chasing her around...thanks so much brig and cait...we know they all kept you busy, but we appreciate it more that you know!

a true bikini body...

i guess i should have bought the 18 mth bathing suit...although...with the size of her belly, i'm not sure that it would matter much...but i think this is what a bikini should be for...just to let it all hang out!

our water baby...

so yesterday was nora's first time in a pool...she loves bath time, so i wasn't too worried that she would hate it...and i was right...she didn't like it at first, but i think that's because it was just a little too cold for her liking...but she got used to, and ended up loving it! by the end, she was kicking her legs appropriately, just like a pro...seeing as i was scared to death of the water after a traumatic "learning how to swim class" and wouldn't go off a diving board again til i was 12, let's hope she takes after her dad...

nora wasn't the only one enjoying the pool...as a matter of fact, its hard to keep them out of it!

a beautiful evening...

so we haven't posted in a while, and i'm sorry...time has just kinda run away from us! and i have to apologize to those who i got mad at for not updating their blogs more frequently...these things are a commitment! but i finally got the camera back out tonight, and i'm so glad that i did...it was a beautiful evening, before the heat and humidity kick in, so we spent some of it outside, with nora before she went to bed...she is getting so big i can hardly believe it...she's gonna be a year old in 20 short days, and i just wonder where the time went...everyday she gets a little cuter and more of her personality comes out...she cracks us up on a daily basis, and we know she is going to be a handful...she says "hi" in this quiet, sultry kinda voice that is hysterical, and loves to say "bye-bye" and wave (like even to Callie and Teagan every time they come in and out of the room)...she cruises along the furniture, but not exactly walking just yet...which is fine by me... she's fast enough as it is! the newest fun thing is that she moos...of course she thinks that's the noise every animal makes, but its all good...we're working on our baa's too..everything all in good time...
here are some pics from tonight...

mike and nora's piggy faces...like father like daughter...

just a little more of her attitude coming out...

nora likes to steal the dogs toys...they are quite patient with her...but if you'll notice in the picture, each one of them is sticking out their tounge...i know one day soon she'll be asking for her dinner in a bowl on the floor too...

please excuse my grossness, as i had just gotten back from a run...but we realized tonight there are hardly any pics of nora and i...

nora discovered tonight that she loves to look at the world upside down...she was then balancing on her neck and trying to grab me...can't you just eat those thighs up??? i absolutely adore her chubby thighs...and now that its warmer, and they're exposed, i think its the cutest thing ever...and yes, she has tan lines in all those crevices... :)

peeking through the wheel on the jogging stroller...those eyes just kill me...

a new trick...

nora stays with my mom, mina, once a week while i am working, and i swear, every time she comes home learning a new trick...well the latest one is "winking"...now it kinda looks similar to her piggy face, but she definitely doesn't use as many muscles to wink...she's got it down...and she looks so darn cute doing it!

poor teags...

so mike went spring turkey hunting this weekend, and took the dogs with him...they didn't actually go hunting...teagan would probably run from a turkey if she ever saw one, but they had a good time running and playing their little hearts out...that is, until sunday...no one quite knows how it happened, but somehow teags got a nice laceration right on the top of her head...so teagan spent the good part of today visiting with dr. latta and getting all stitched up...she has 4 cute pink stitches and doesn't seem any worse for the wear...its actually been fun trying to keep callie from stepping on teagan's head so it won't bleed any more...

callie was very sad while teags was at the vet...she moped around the house and had the saddest eyes...so when teagan 1st came home, callie sniffed her head and just laid with her...

how to keep your daughter quiet through dinner...

give her a pickle!
